As a young girl, the first time I felt freedom was learning how to ride my bike. Me and my dad would ride our bikes through the forest together and ever since then I have felt a special attachment to the bicycle. There’s something so powerful about becoming an engine.

This couture collection represents the special bond women have to their bicycles, and how it converts them into the dashing versions of themselves. Textiles, embellishments and trims for this collection were created by disassembling parts of the bicycle. Such as bead-work with gear chains, and knitted inner tubes/ bicycle tires. These textile transformations emphasized the union of bicycle and woman within my collection.
